Lifetime Warranty

All towbars that we supply are covered by a manufacturers lifetime guarantee against any manufacturing defects. This warranty covers only the fixed parts of the towbar assembly, and not moving parts such as detachable necks, or other accessories. In the unlikely event that your towbar develops a fault as a result of a manufacturing defect, please contact us and we will contact the towbar manufacturer on your behalf.

This guarantee applies only to the vehicle that the towbar was originally fitted and is not transferable between owners.

Please be aware that while your towbar will be finished by the manufacturer in a protective paint or powder coating that is designed to protect it from corrosion, due to the exposed location of the towbar on the rear underside of your vehicle it is subject to a very harsh environment. Therefore, due to the high risk of stone chips, exhaust fume build-up etc. we are unable to offer any guarantee that the towbar will remain free from rust. The protective finish should be checked and regularly maintained to with a suitable rust inhibitor/preventer to avoid any serious corrosion.

The lifetime guarantee does not cover towballs or other coupling type which are considered a wear and tear item, and may need to be occasionally replaced from time to time.

12 Month Warranty

All our towbar installations are covered by a 12-month guarantee for the towbar electrics we fit to your vehicle. We shall free of charge repair any faults that appear, and you report to us during this time.

Our fitter will fully test your towbar installation at the time of installation. However, in the unlikely event that you discover a fault with your towbar or towbar wiring, you should inform us immediately. We will arrange for our fitter to call out at the earliest available time. Please note that should we find that any fault is not related to our installation, there will be a £35 + VAT call out fee to cover our costs in coming out to you.

It is, therefore, very important that you thoroughly test the compatibility of your trailer or caravan with your towbar installation before planning a holiday or trip away as we are unable to offer a same day service in most circumstances. Please allow a minimum of 3 working days to arrange for a callout should one be necessary

Should you choose to have work carried out by a company other than Somerset Mobile Towbars, we will not be liable to pay any charges from a 3rd party without our prior agreement. Should we agree to pay any costs, we will only pay for like for like replacement of any parts.

In respect of all goods manufactured and supplied to us by third parties we will pass on to you (in so far as possible) the benefit of any warranty given to us by such third parties. We will (on request) supply to you details of the terms and conditions of such warranty and copies of any relevant product information sheets, technical data sheets or product leaflets issued by third parties and you shall be solely responsible to the entire exclusion of us for complying with all of these.

Our liability under this Condition shall be to the exclusion of all other liability to you whether contractual, tortious or otherwise for defects in the goods and/or cost of labour or for any loss or damage to or caused by the goods and all other conditions, warranties, stipulations or other statements whatsoever concerning the goods, whether express or implied, by statute, at common law or otherwise howsoever, are hereby excluded in particular (but without limitation of the foregoing) we grant no warranties regarding the fitness for purpose, performance, use, nature or merchantable quality of the goods, whether express or implied, by statute at common law or otherwise howsoever.

Warranty Exclusions

Any of our warranties do not cover faults or damage caused by improper use or wear and tear from normal use.

You should be careful not to overload your towbar, as this is the most common cause of damage.

Statutory Rights

This Guarantee does not confer any rights other than those expressly set out above and does not cover any claim for indirect or consequential loss or damage. Nothing in this Guarantee in intended to limit or exclude the liability of Towbar Express for anything which it is not permitted to exclude or limit under English law.

This Guarantee is offered as an extra benefit to and does not affect your statutory rights.
