Towbars

Somerset Mobile Towbars only use fully approved towbars and electrical kits when fitting to customers vehicles. The towbar makes we use are manufactured in the UK by either Tow-Trust Towbars or Witter Towbars. These two manufacturers are two of the biggest in the UK and the towbars are produced to the highest quality and standards and fully conform to all current EU legislation and are therefore fully certified by the Vehicle Certification Authority (VCA) for fitment to cars and light commercial vehicles. All our towbars carry a manufacturer warranty for the vehicle to which they are originally fitted (visit the manufacturers website for details).

The electrical systems we install also conform to the very exacting standards laid down by the licensing authority and again are all fully certified for use in modern vehicles. Most modern cars require the use of a Towing Interface Relay or a By-Pass Relay to give it its more common name. These relays offer full protection to the vehicle electronic systems and in the event of a problem in the trailer or caravan being towed, will automatically shut-down the problem circuit in the trailer/caravan thereby protecting the car circuits.

Somerset Mobile Towbars are therefore able to carry out towbar and the relevant electrical installation to most makes of car or light commercial vehicle whether with a single socket 12N fitting or the most modern 13-Pin Euro Socket which is slowly becoming the industry preferred choice, using only the most up-to-date products available, giving you the customer every confidence in the equipment installed on your vehicle.
